Our Mission
The mission of the Morningside Elementary School Foundation is to foster teaching excellence and enhance student achievement through strategic investments in curriculum, technology, training, and facilities at Morningside Elementary School.
Curriculum
Technology Programs
Teacher Training
Facilities Enhancement
Since its founding, the MES Foundation has invested over $1.5 million in critical funding for strategic curriculum programs, teacher training, facilities enhancement, and technology in every classroom.
A Word from the Principal
The Morningside Elementary School Foundation continues to play an essential role in enriching the educational experience for all of our students, and its impact can be seen across every corner of our school. MESF’s support spans across four critical pillars—Curriculum, Technology, Professional Development, and Facilities Improvement—each of which contributes meaningfully to our mission of providing an exceptional educational experience in a nurturing environment.
Curriculum
Thanks to the Foundation, our students and teachers have access to enhanced instructional materials that bring learning to life. From funding a plethora of STEAM related experiential curriculum including murals to support our “Art” component of STEAM, to robust digital resources that supplement student learning, MESF connects the dots for our Dolphins! This continued support enables us to offer a more engaging and comprehensive curriculum tailored to the needs of our students.
Technology
In today’s digital age, as we train students for jobs that don’t yet exist, access to current technology is vital. The Foundation helps us maintain and expand tools that students need to thrive. MESF has funded document cameras, digital signage, and Raptor security stations to name a few. This ongoing investment ensures that our students are safe and well prepared for the future.
Professional Development
An excellent school begins with excellent educators. Through the Foundation’s support, our teachers are able to participate in high-quality learning opportunities through conference attendance as well as ongoing professional learning sessions throughout the year. Support from MESF also allows us to continue our training focus on Orton Gillingham and the Science of Reading, as well as increase solid practices in writing instruction. These learning experiences allow our staff to stay current with best practices, deepen their expertise, and bring new ideas into the classroom—ultimately benefiting every child.
Facilities Improvement
The Foundation also contributes to the enhancement of our learning environment through targeted facilities improvements. From creating more flexible learning spaces including with additional turfed areas for students, to beautifying the hallways with murals that provide inspiration to our students, these projects directly support student engagement and well-being.
On behalf of our staff and students, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Foundation and to all who contribute your time, resources, and energy in support of its work. The Foundation’s efforts are an essential part of what makes Morningside such a vibrant and successful school community.
